Honey Ryder Playlists

Want to know which songs Honey Ryder are listening to and being inspired by at the moment?

Then make sure you subscribe to the band’s Youtube Channel where each member will be curating their own playlists.

This week we start with Lindsay, who has chosen her four favourite tracks of the moment.

Read about why she chose each track below.

Thea Gilmore – ‘Holding your Hand’

This song is utterly beautiful. The melody is wonderfully simple and repetitive which creates a hypnotic and intense feel. The lyrics are amazingly moving – it’s a track that I’d like played at my funeral because it sums up everything that I’d want to say to my loved ones.

Lana Del Rey – ‘Video Games’

This is genius – the melody is magical and haunting, the vocal delivery is perfect and the production is imaginative and totally atmospheric. I just don’t get tired of hearing it.

Jason Mraz – ‘I Won’t Give Up’

This has a classic singer-songwriter feel to it. You feel like you’ve heard it before but that’s a good thing – it’s a melody which gets into your head easily and before you know it you’re singing along.

Helen Reddy – ‘I Am Woman’

This song is inspirational for any female. You cannot fail to smile and feel positive if you listen to it – the lyrics are so powerful they can make you feel invincible on a good day! I’ve loved this track since the first time my mum played it to me as a child… and at the time I thought it was just our family who liked it! Until the Sex and the City girls sang it in their latest film proving it to be a song with universal appeal.
